  James Uehling
Principal

Jim’s distinguished career coincided with and contributed to the emergence of corporate identity in the U.S. as a component of strategic planning and a fundamental aspect of contemporary business. Jim’s position in the corporate identity arena stems from wide consulting expertise, ranging from the analytic to the creative. His reputation is based on a track record of focusing communications issues clearly with chief executives and senior management, then planning effective remedial solutions. Jim has supported a broad spectrum of industrial, telecommunications, financial services and energy companies in optimizing their current identity programs or modifying those programs to project new corporate definitions in an environment of change.   Prior to co-founding Kass Uehling, Jim held senior positions with some of the world's best-known corporate identity consulting and design firms. He was the New York managing director of London-based Addison Design Consultants (formerly S&O Consultants); and served extended tenures at Lippincott & Margulies, first as design director then as executive vice president; Lefkowith, Inc. as principal; and Siegel & Gale as senior vice president, all New York firms.

Jim is a graduate and former faculty member of Pratt Institute in New York and studied graphics at Atelier 17 in Paris under the late Stanley William Hayter. He is a frequent speaker and contributor to business publications.
